We all need to be striving for excellence, not perfection. It’s usually impossible to get it absolutely perfect, so we need to just get it going. We waste a lot of time trying to make something perfect and then end up not finishing it. Excellence is much more cost efficient than perfection. Spending that extra time and money to make something absolutely perfect is rarely worth it from a pay-back standpoint.
It is easy to get caught up in a project trying to make it perfect, however we soon find our budget for time and funds is running out. Whereas if we aim to make our product or service "excellent", it still gives us a big advantage over most of the competition, and we can use that time and money we would have spent to make it perfect, to go on to another project that will move us ahead even faster. So if you want to increase your overall efficiency, strive for excellence, and not for perfection.
