I know individuals who tend to put things off that they need to do because they can’t do them with perfection.  They procrastinate because they apparently think if they can’t do something perfectly, then they shouldn’t do it at all.  They can’t seem to understand that they need to strive for excellence and for doing their very best and forget the perfection thing.

We often spend so much time and energy trying to make something perfect that we end up wasting time.  Excellence is much more cost effective than perfection.  When we aim to make our product or service excellent, we still gain an advantage over most of our competition, and we’ll have that extra time and money that we would have spent to try to make it perfect, to use on another project which will help to move us ahead.

So by striving for excellence, instead of perfection, you’ll increase your efficiency and gain that competitive advantage.
